One of only a handful of schools to be selected, Truro High School for Girls has once again been shortlisted for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2020.

The all-girls independent school is the only educational establishment in Cornwall to make the cut.

Whittled down from hundreds of schools from across the country in 20 different categories, the shortlist includes schools such as Roedean, Millfield, Wycombe Abbey, Tonbridge, Epsom College and Rugby.

The awards aim to highlight the quality of the student experience in independent schools and celebrate the transformative and innovative ways in which the winning institutions prepare pupils for their future lives.

Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Matthews said: “It’s brilliant to see the broad opportunities that our girls enjoy here recognised and to be shortlisted once again. To be selected for a category with such a wide focus is a real testament to excellence in everything. That means academics but also the skills and talents that are encouraged and nurtured outside of the classroom and the fun that our girls have too. It’s a real accolade as the competition nationwide is certainly mighty!”

The winners of all categories in the annual Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2020 will be announced later in the autumn.
